What Was Wrong
The site was running Divi 5 and LiteSpeed Cache — two powerful tools that were actually getting in each other's way. Both were trying to handle the same tasks, like generating Critical CSS and deferring JavaScript, at the same time. The result was conflicts, wasted processing and a slower site than either tool would have produced on its own.
What We Did
We worked through every setting in both Divi 5 and LiteSpeed Cache, giving each tool a clearly defined job. Divi handled the things only it can do — loading only the CSS, JavaScript and icons each individual page actually needs. LiteSpeed took care of everything else — page caching, Critical CSS, image conversion to WebP, and JavaScript deferral.
We also fixed a simple but costly issue — the hero image on the homepage was loading at full desktop size on mobile phones, making visitors download far more data than their screen needed. A mobile-specific image and a preload hint cut the mobile load time dramatically.
The Results
Google PageSpeed mobile went from 69 to 99. Desktop hit 100. Pingdom moved from 79 to 91. Mobile load times dropped by over three seconds. No new hosting, no expensive plugins, no redesign — just the right settings applied correctly.
